Anyone fancy a trip to the Manx next year?
It's just like the TT but;
a bit quieter
the ferry is half the price
the place is awash with Classic Bikes rather than GSXRs, Fireblades, R1s, etc
People are even friendlier
There's still plenty going on
The pace of life is a fraction of what it is at the TT - you don't feel the urge to go hell for leather over the Mountain and you don't get idiots overtaking you at 180mph (well, I didn't)
The racing is brilliant - traditional race machines, 2 strokes, Ducatis, Classics (including a brilliant MV triple) as well as modern stuff. No sidecars though, unfortunately.
The riders talk to you in the pub afterwards
Still free camping at the Claddaghs (walking distance from Ginger Hall and the Sulby)
Practice week 22nd Aug -29th Aug
Race week 30th Aug - 4th Sept
And I promise not to be a complete Marshaling bore!

And wot about the Tin Bath World Championships in Castletown Harbour, with Martin Clunes behaving badly..........
Or the huge gathering of old bikes, again in Castletown (Imagine Ramsey Sprint day About 40 years ago )
And I won't forget an adrenalin-filled James Shipley reliving his first race over the mountain course in appalling conditions in the Newcomer's race for the entire evening on monday.............
If only they could bottle wot he was on _________________ Better a half wit, than no wit at all.

Sounds like you enjoyed yourself Stu
It really is a fantastic place
It was nice camping next to you - if only because you attracted all the wasps away from me!
Shame I couldn't have stayed a bit longer - next year! |

That looks like me currently recovering from Stormin' at this very moment. Apart from the sun shining, everything is dry, etc, etc.
(Stormin' was cut short today(Sat) because of bad weather - and it was/is WET) |

I got a call from Carlos and Tinkerbelle friday afternoon, who were on site in the mudbath. Wouldn't bother them, though, both their bikes were caught in the Farmyard Tsunami. (With appearance in BSH) _________________ Better a half wit, than no wit at all.
